Jimmy Sexton, LL.M.
Founder & CEO
Visionary & Hardworking
Though it may sound odd coming from the founder and CEO of the company, Jimmy Sexton is quite proud of the fact that he’s never had a job. A job, that is, in the sense of working for somebody else from 9 to 5 each day. Instead, he graduated from college, found himself unable to find a job, and decided to start his own business.
That was in 2005. Since then, Jimmy has grown Esquire Group into a successful international firm with offices in four countries—Austria, Germany, the UAE, and the U.S. From his base in Dubai, he regularly travels throughout the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas meeting with clients, speaking, and overseeing Esquire Group’s global operations. In his role as advisor, his primary focus is on advanced tax planning strategies for high-net worth and corporate clients, specializing in corporate structuring, expatriation, wealth structuring, and U.S. tax compliance.
A self-confessed perfectionist, Jimmy is always challenging himself to improve everything—himself, his business, his clients’ experience with the company. He refuses to cut corners and adheres to his values regardless of the consequences. His dedication to both the vision and daily operations of Esquire Group infuses not only his decision-making, but also his treatment of his employees and his passionate commitment to his clients.
Perhaps just as important is Jimmy’s non-traditional background as an international entrepreneur who himself lives overseas. Because of the breadth of his first-hand experience, Jimmy is able to offer clients a unique, more holistic perspective that goes beyond any individual tax issue. He combines in-depth expertise in international taxation with an awareness of more practical matters, such as strategy implementation and the nitty-gritty of banking, language, and time zone issues.
Jimmy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance, a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) postgraduate degree in International Taxation.
As a longtime expat, an international tax advisor, and an instrument rated private pilot, Jimmy spends an inordinate amount of time on airplanes. When he is on the ground, he is usually working, snowboarding, or at the gym.
